Voor de maanden maart en april is het goede doel dat Averechts steunt Lesh Hek (Arabisch voor "waarom is het zo?") een initiatief uit Beiroet dat maandverband inzamelt en uitdeelt aan vrouwen en meisjes in nood.
Door de oorlog in Libanon is meer dan een derde van de inwoners ontheemd. In het stadje Saksakieh alleen al wachten 1.000 tot 1.200 vrouwen op hulp voor basishygiëne. Voor maar €0,78 heeft een vrouw genoeg maandverband voor een volledige cyclus. Het ingezamelde geld gaat direct naar de aankoop en uitdeling: Lesh Hek werkt zo efficiënt dat producten binnen 24 uur na ontvangst van de fondsen al worden uitgedeeld.
Alle fooi die je geeft gaat volledig naar dit doel en wij verdubbelen dat bedrag tot €2.000. Samen willen we 1.200 vrouwen twee maanden lang helpen.

For the months of March and April, the charity Averechts supports is Lesh Hek (Arabic for "why is it so?"), an initiative from Beirut that collects and distributes sanitary pads to women and girls in need.
Due to the war in Lebanon, more than a third of the inhabitants have been displaced. In the town of Saksakieh alone, 1,000 to 1,200 women are waiting for help with basic hygiene. For just €0.78, a woman has enough sanitary pads for a full cycle. The money raised goes directly to purchase and distribution: Lesh Hek works so efficiently that products are distributed within 24 hours of receiving the funds.
